Yesterday wasn’t a calm Sunday. It was the day that we were waiting for some weeks. And in this 8th of January, we had the enjoyment to be at an event of Ghetto-style. A kind of present for the new year which offered us Kanon (Ghetto-Style / Kaynix) on the occasion of his birthday.

At this occasion, dancers wore their most beautiful sneakers. Before the battle, we could see the judges chatting with everybody –because before to be judges they’re also dancer like us-, the atmosphere was cool and it’s in the spirit of Hip-hop that the GS Fusion Street started.

After first short pre-selections wich disappointed quite a lot of dancers who couldn’t really make the difference between this hundreds of duets, the team Guests had the honour to chose the team that they wanted to confront : - Ben & Dedson (won) chose Ichigo & Bboy Dany - Majid & PDog (won) chose Julia & Rizlaine - Cyborg & Wolf chose Muphasa & Egotrip (won) - Ismael & TBoogz chose Kefton & U.K (won)

The eight team still on competition were in confrontation. But the GS Fusion was also shows with Venus & Mars (that I discovered at the Who iz Who), the Kulture Kids who were very artistics; Khaio & Dayo sang a swigging rap about Ghetto-Style and the Swaggers, she were just amazing.

So it’s after the astonishing demos of judges Mathias, Nelson, Grishka, Naim, Fabrice and Marion that the finals began. The public made theirs pronostics and it’s on the victory of Kefton that the first battle of the year ended.

For my part, if I wanted to express what I felt during this battle, I’ll say :

« The beat could be read on their lips, Each step were striking as violent kicks, I enjoyed myself ‘cuz dance was the keyword, Towards our exciting Hip-hop’world. »
